Born and raised in Monongahela, Pennsylvania, Nick Franks landed in Tucson when he was stationed at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base as a member of the United States Air Force.
After serving a tour of duty in Vietnam, Nick decided he liked the weather in Tucson (especially compared to the cold Pennsylvania winters) and made The Old Pueblo his new home.
Post military, Nick earned his Bachelor’s Degree of Science from the University of Arizona before embarking on a professional career. He worked in the savings and loan industry for 15 years, and held positions as a regional manager of operations in both Tucson and Phoenix. He worked his way to a role as Vice President of Residential Lending for all of Arizona.
In 1989, Nick opened Ventana Mortgage and operated the company for 21 years. Over the past few years, he’s worked as a branch manager for Sunstreet Mortgage, LLC.
Outside of the office, Nick has been the chairman of the board for the Southern Arizona American Cancer Society, member and president of The Old Pueblo Civitan Club, member and president of the Tri-City Civitan Club, and member and board member of the Tucson Association of Executives.
Nick’s hobbies include golfing, attending University of Arizona athletics, and enjoying time with his children and grandchildren. He has three adult children and six grandchildren.
